Most of you know that this blog has been a journal to keep family/friends updated while we've been living in Winnipeg. You also know that I haven't written anything in months... please forgive me folks as I'm trying to re-evaluate what I want my blog to look like and the purpose it will fulfill as I begin this new part of the journey.

I've been thinking about:
1) Ending the blog
2) Making it a "praise report" which will keep me accountable to finding God in every situation

Any other suggestions would be great!

Help me! I'm addicted!

After a few weeks have passed I finally gave in and made an account on www.facebook.com and man oh man is it addictive! I've spent so much time searching for people - finding people I grew up at church with, to people I played sports with, to family members that I barely know. It's great!

The service at Winnipeg East was really nice this morning. Since the Christ candle was lit on the last week of advent we had it burning during each service - today at the end of the service it was blown out. It was beautiful. We will all join for a pancake breakfast on Sunday morning, followed by the Resurrection Service! During that service the Christ candle will be lit again!

Only a few more assignments to work on before the semester ends...the problem is getting motivated to do them! Oh - and the announcement of our appointment has been changed to May 4, 2007 because of the visit of the General of The Salvation Army to Winnipeg. We are all pretty disappointed - but what can we really do? nothing!

Take Care! Happy Easter!

30 days from today.....

And The Bungay's will know where they are spending the next few years of their lives together! April 27, 2007 will be both a very exciting and memorable day of our lives. We look forward to hearing where the rest our session will be appointed as well as many of our friends and family members - but until then....we wait. We wait in anticipation of the excitement, tears (as I know that at least Karen will be crying! haha), the questions, the packing etc. The one thing I will probably miss the most is having the chance to apartment hop! I love living in a community where we show up looking for anything from sugar and eggs to spiritual help and support - and either is just as acceptable!

In other news...we received a wedding invitation from our friends back in NL the other day (waiting until April 27 to respond) and we received some Easter cards in the mail today from our family (thanks a bunch)! I take these as little blessings from God to remind us of the many people we meet along our Christian journey.

This weekend I had the chance to see two really good movies. Friday night Sheldon and I watched "The Terminal", and Saturday night we went to see "The Pursuit of Happyness." I would recommend both! We also went out with some friends for a BBQ and went to a surprise party for Deana Z - a great weekend! The activities of this weekend have made me think about how much I would like to make two big purchases this summer- a puppy and a BBQ!

This week has been filled with some good news as well. Our friend Rebecca (whom we met during our summer assignment) was accepted to Training College! The Braye's are expecting a little bambino! And I was chosen to be the Valedictorian for my session. Also, my sister & brother-in-law have told Benjamin that he is moving - he now refers to a "far away house" and plans on visiting Grandma & Poppy on Lightning McQueen! Which I think is hilarious! Just thought I'd spread some of this good news!

Blessings

Over the past few days I have been reading through the book of 1 Samuel. I have been reminded of the importance of friendship, 1 Samuel 18:1 "After David finished talking with Saul, he met Jonathan, the king's son. There was an immediate bond of love between them, and they became the best of friends." Sometimes we make immediate connections with friends, other times it take weeks of building trust - the importance is that friends are those special people we can laugh and cry with, encourage and stay close to during the rough times in our lives. Jonathan and David are a great example of Friends sticking close to one another during very difficult times...so difficult that it was close to David's death. Tonight I celebrate God's gift of friendship! I believe that I have found some of those close connections, and I will cherish them forever!

Tonight I also celebrate God's gift of family - I love all you guys!

March 10, 2007

What a great weekend! Friday evening we had our 99 Day Celebration Party! Our whole session went out for supper and then back to the residence for Cake/Coffee. During the supper we started a "most likely to..." list. I'm not at liberty to share all of the info (hah) but I was most likely to have a baby first (don't get too excited!), and Sheldon had the cutest wiggle! Our session is full of different personalities, passions, and interests - but one thing we all love to do is party together! Upon arrival back at Waverley we were greeted with a 99 day banner made by the GFW's which was full of hilarious statements. For example, "99 Days until you can wear your hair anyway you like!" The others I'm not at liberty to share!!!!

This morning a few of us were at a bridal shower for Hayley (Booth Student), and had another great time of fellowship and laughter! Her friends threw her an "around the clock" shower, so basically everyone was given a specific time of day to purchase their gift around. A few of us went in together and bought her a crock pot. She seemed to really like it...and it was more practical than some of the other gifts she received! But that's the whole point of showers...right?! What's a bridal shower without a little bit of embarrassment?! Another great thing, I actually won a prize! That never happens! I won for having the wedding anniversary closest to Hayley's date!

Tonight we had another evening of fellowship with some friends - so it's been a great weekend! God has certainly blessed us with many new friends since coming to Winnipeg, and we are SO thankful for that! We are taking every chance we get for fellowship within our community before we leave in June....we might be pretty lonely in Digby! haha!

Don't forget to put your clocks ahead tonight!

Tomorrow I make my big debut as an actress at CFOT! haha! Anita and I will be portraying Mary & Martha in order to help out Amanda with her chapel. I have to be pretty dramatic...so I better get my acting hat on!! Well for those of you who really know me understand that that won't be too big of a stretch, as I can get pretty dramatic sometimes (Do you know who my mom is???hahahaha)

Today we were able to sit under the ministry of Peter & Bethany, and were also given the opportunity to say goodbye before they head home to Pickering. Thanks for the borrowed DVD's, cook books, and Nintendo Wii! haha. Sheldon and I wish you the best of luck, and be assured of our prayers as you make another "turn" on your journey.

In family news - We are all hoping that Erika & Steve will be able to come up for 2 weeks in May to take two intensive courses at Booth College. I really hope they get all the approval they need!

Enjoy the rest of your day!
